Qantas: 105 years in the making, Project Sunrise is here

Qantas: 105 years in the making, Project Sunrise is here

We're pleased to share this exciting news from our partners at Qantas.

From October 2027, Qantas will fly daily non-stop between London and Sydney, the world's longest commercial flight, with flights on sale from February next year

For the first time, customers will be able to travel between the UK and Australia's east coast in a single, uninterrupted journey, saving up to four hours compared with the fastest one-stop service today.

This route builds on a legacy that began in 1947, when the Kangaroo route took seven stops to reach Sydney. Over time, each new generation of aircraft has removed a stop from that journey, and with Project Sunrise, they are removing the final stop.

Operating alongside the existing London-Perth and London-Singapore-Sydney services, this further expands the growing non-stop network, including London, Rome and Paris to Perth, as well as Dallas to Sydney and New York to Auckland, giving your customers more ways to fly to the other side of the world.

The Airbus A350-1000ULR joining the fleet next year was designed specifically for these flights, with the entire onboard experience reimagined for ultra long-haul travel. From cabin lighting calibrated to destination time zones to a world-first Wellbeing Zone - this marks a new dawn of travel, designed around shared customers.

105 years in the making, and this is the most exciting chapter yet for Qantas.
